ABOUT
986 Productions is more than just gear — it’s a crew, a community, and a creative outlet that’s constantly evolving. What started out as a snowboarding production project has grown into a full-scale production company, creative studio, and brand. We’re talking everything from filming and editing, to throwing events, to designing gear — all fueled by a group of homies trying to build something real and bring people together. 986 isn’t just about what we make — it’s about who we make it with.
We create, we ride, we film, we connect — all while keeping the same energy we started with: have fun, stay true, and grow the community.
HOW IT STARTED
986 Productions was founded in 2020 by Cyrus Corbet. Back then, it was just him and a camera, filming real estate videos around Idaho. The name? A nod to the local roots — 986 is the Idaho area code, plain and simple. But as time went on, Cyrus started posting snowboard clips to the 986 Instagram just for fun. That’s when things started to shift.
The snowboarding content picked up, the vibe started clicking, and what was once a solo hustle turned into something way bigger than expected. Homies started tapping in, helping out, showing love — and from there, the vision grew.
Cyrus kept pushing 986 beyond just production. It became a platform to create, to collaborate, to represent, and to inspire. The crew grew. The work got sharper. The community started forming.
Now 986 is filming everything from lifestyle pieces to music videos and snowboard edits, dropping gear, and hosting events — but it’s still got that same DIY, from-the-ground-up energy that started it all.
